Is there an option for a wakeup volume yet ?

That way it can be useful for sleep and waking up.

I have the same problem here... Not always, but sometimes it shows "sleeping..." forever.

To freecom firmware developers.

It seems that after some weeks of use the musicpal hangs itself, mostly in the night when i have switched of the wireless
signal of the router. I guess because of extended logging which is going on when there is no wireless connection.
This really disappointing because i use the musicpal mainly as an alarm clock.

Can this problem please get some priority over new features. I rather have a stable device at this point.
Is this the reason 1.67 is still beta?? A bit weird to have a beta firmware after all this time. (years)

For now i am going to downgrade the firmware from 1.67 to 1.58, because from what i recall this was the most stable firmware version i used.

Is there a way to switch of logging totally? Thus zero logging? (i know about the debug page)

Why update automatically to a BETA, that seems to be hardly tested? I'm just getting sick and tired of this frustrating MusicPal. It's hardly possible to enjoy my music as each song just misses the first beat (fades in at that point). many times it can't find my media server (FSG-3 with Twonky), and often it just hangs in the middle of a song after playing for half an hour, which forces a reboot (unplug an d plug power... ).

Freecom, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, we paid for this device, remember?

@mrbassmann

If you choose 'alternate update server' on the debug page it doesn't flash the firmware automatically.

I never have any of these issues, maybe you have interference on your WiFi network? Have you tried it via ethernet to see if the problems persist?

I really dislike UPnP, am happily using the new NFS mounting capabilities to my FreeNAS server. Way faster to navigate through thousands of music files...

I can confirm that it freezes to "Sleeping..." instead of showing the clock. When going to sleep, it just freezes on that text instead of showing the clock! (In French, "Veille...".)

It does so with 1.67 and 1.68.

I won't downgrade to 1.62 because (1) I can't; (2) 1.62 has another bug, it fails to connect to any radio station on waking up.

I won't downgrade to 1.65 because (1) I can't, they only distribute "mpimage.bin", and my device requires "mp2image.bin".

The French forum has a workaround:
http://www.freecomforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=5288#p40526

In English: go to Settings -> Clock -> Show Clock Idle Time -> set it to 120 minutes. Surprisingly, this will ensure that the clock is displayed upon sleeping. The caveat is that once you listen to the radio for more than 2 hours, the “Now Playing” information will be replaced by the clock after 120 minutes. Even with Use ‘Now Playing’ in clock, this may be annoying. Menu -> Now playing will bring the normal display back.

Thx for the workaround :) Hope this issue will be fixes in the next firmware :)
