I can confirm that last.fm is now working :D

nfs mounting still works as before, but still takes a couple of minutes before any media is found. I'm guessing it takes a while to scan the disk for content...

I'll be doing some critical listening to determine if the annoying occasional sound artifacts have gone away (might be WiFi interference, but never happens on my three OmniFi DMS-1's running OpenFi); and if the distortion when bass boost is on has been fixed...

Been listening from various sources, including last.fm and my NAS, for a couple of hours now. Bass boost on, distortion does not seem to be a problem now. No more annoying artifacts noticed, either. I'm a happy camper right now. :)

Hi!

First of all, thx for you great job, it's greatly appreciated!

A couple of questions:
1) What's the "internal speaker on in sleep mode is adjustable"?
2) Quite often, when I put the device in sleep mode, the screen shows "sleeping" and it stays there forever, without showing the clock.

1) "internal speaker on in sleep mode is adjustable": The debug website "http://ip_of_your_musicpal/admin/cg-bin/debug" has a option called "Force internal speaker in Sleep Mode", if you check this option, the internal speaker will be enabled if you set a sleep timer.

2) "sleeping" without clock happens if your clock is not setup. check the clock of the musicpal.

Sorry, I really don't get it... Why I should want to disable the internal speaker when setting the sleep timer?

That's not my case... If I turn it on again, then I can see my clock is correctly setup.

Thx a lof for you time and patience

I'd like to suggest an improvement:
Say I'm hovering in the favorites, and MusicPal buffers a radio station: then if I click on that favorite, MusicPal re-buffers that music station again, while It'd be able to skip this step.

Am I wrong?

Hello

Is there anywhere a complete reference for ipc_send commands and parameters?
Does the change "ipc 'play' added" mean we can force the musicpal to play anything just knowing its URL? Would this work for UPNP locations also?

Thank you!

Well, I think you don't.
My guess is:
-) when you connect external speakers
-) and set this option
-) you can turn the externals off (if they're powered) and still have sound
-) until the MusicPal falls asleep
-) thus saving the energy for the externals
or something like that :-)

1.67 beta - OPML parsing error?

Postby TonyG » 01.02.2010, 15:39

Thanks guys for making OPML parsing available under 1.67.

I would recommend checking out the excellent RadioFeeds link service (see earlier posts from vinnielo) or the BBC's OPML podcast feeds to anyone wishing to get a better idea of how OPML files can be put to good use on their MusicPal.

So, to the issue.... when using OPML to create menu/item tree lists, there appears to be a problem when a menu contains only a single entry.

In this stripped-down example, the target files accessed by each of the items would be .mp3 podcasts:

...My-OPML...

.....MyMenu-1...
........ http://www.woterlarf.com/file1_1.rss ....
........ http://www.woterlarf.com/file1_2.rss ....

.....MyMenu-2...
........ http://www.woterlarf.com/file2_1.rss ....

.....MyMenu-3...
........ http://www.woterlarf.com/file3_1.rss ....
........ http://www.woterlarf.com/file3_2.rss ....

When playing podcasts referred to by either of the files located in MyMenu-1 or MyMenu-3, pressing the MusicPal's menu button at any time takes you back up to the My-OPML level, enabling you to navigate to another selection.

However, you are unable to 'return' after selecting the single file entry in MyMenu-2 - the podcast file just starts playing again. One work-around is to duplicate the entry in MyMenu-2 to create a second instance of the reference - inelegant but....

I tested opml and it's really nice. Thanks Freecom!
I thought about nested playlists, unfortunately the player stops after playing a track. If this one could be implemented, I would convert my m3u's to opml :-)

cheers,
Marco
